Sometimes you may want to ask the database about data and the data may be spread across several tables. In order for you to get the information you would create a query.

A query asks the database for information and returns the results of that query – generally in a temporary table or view, which displays the things you asked for.

The picture below shows a query being set up on the CD Table that asks to view any of the records in the database table that is equal to the text ‘The Beatles’.

The result of carrying out the above query is shown in the picture below that show that three records were found in the CD Table that matched the criteria in the above query.
